Fun! I voted that I am a French Huguenot on the eve of St. Bartholomew Eve! Maybe an escape like in the Henty! :P Now, I would like that! :D :P ;) What did you vote for, Melanie?! ~Gabrielle
I voted the Titanic! :-) (Not sure why... :-P )
I voted the slave, I think because it's more silent hiding and silent circumstances than some of those other times, and more escapable than the Titanic. :S All those options struck fear into my heart, though!!! You couldn't have picked a worse selection!! ;)
Man, that was a hard choice but I enjoyed it. I chose runaway slave. It was between that and the Titanic. The other two were too gruesome and physically painful. I chose runaway slave because that one seem liked it had the highest survival rate, it's the only option were I know the terrine and langue, as well as I'm the only one in danger. If it was only me, I might have chosen the Titanic but having a husband as well is just too hard!
I chose the runaway slave, too, partially because it seems less dangerous, and partially because I think the Underground Railroad is really interesting.
My dearest Melanie....this one is simply too hard!! I need some time....:)I will reply I promise, just need to think and pray about it for a while :)MEG
It was a hard choice between the Titanic (love the clothing!) and St. Bartholomew Eve. I went with French Huguenot on the eve of St. Bartholomew Eve. It would be fun to do a Henty escape, and I wouldn't have to leave my husband behind on a sinking ship. :O :)
Ha ha, Ashley, your comment on the Titanic era clothing made my laugh. :-) Yes, I like it too. ;-)I read Henty's book on St. Bartholemew's Eve (that's basically how I knew anything about the event!) but I don't remember exactly how the escape went... :-)I wouldn't want to leave my husband behind either... tragic!! Megan, did you decide yet? :-) :-)It was fun making this poll, since it was so hard. ;-) I'll make the next easier, promise! ;-)
Ok, yeah.So I chose the Titanic one. Here is my reasoning :)I would most likely have a better chance of surviving than the other ones. There is the negative factor about my husband dying and all, however, here is my solution for that... I would be terribly sad, however, He would be a Christian, therefore, I know I would see him in heaven :)Can you tell it took me a while?!!Great poll Melanie!MEG
Good reasoning, Meg! :-D
I'm a slave racing to freedom! It seems to be the most popular judging from comments. :-) Like the others, I liked the survival chances....I'm terrified of sinking-be it pond or ocean!!! And I think you'd have to knock me out to get me off the ship if my hubbie was still on it. But was that really the idea Mells? Or is the wife traveling ALONE??? That would make a differance. ANYWAYS, another reason for being the slave is that I feel much more confidant in being able to hide in the great outdoors than in a city or something. :-S Still, that was HARD!!!!!! :)
Apparently no one likes the odds of hide and seek w/ Hitler!!!!!!!!
