I Could Not Do Without Thee

I just read a post about advertisements rejecting belief in "a god". How very tragic that this world would reject the only One that can give them hope-- Jesus Christ! And how tragic that we Christians have become negligent in sharing this hope with others, and are so often poor examples of the beauty of the Christ-life. Reading that post set my mind to the words of a song my family enjoys singing and I wanted to post it here. Where would I be without my God? Despair, definitely. Life is not worth living without Jesus.
~*~*~*~*~
"I could not do without Thee,
O Savior of the lost,
Whose precious blood redeemed me
At such tremendous cost.
Thy righteousness, Thy pardon,
Thy precious blood must be
My only hope and comfort,
My glory and my plea.
"I could not do without Thee,
I cannot stand alone.
I have no strength or goodness,
No wisdom of my own.
But Thou, beloved Savior,
Art all in all to me,
And weakness will be power
If leaning hard on Thee.
"I could not do without Thee,
O Jesus, Savior dear;
E'en when my eyes are 'holden,
I know that Thou art near.
How dreary and how lonely
This changeful life would be
Without the sweet communion,
The secret rest with Thee.
"I could not do without Thee,
For years are fleeting fast,
And soon in solemn loneness,
The river must be passed.
But Thou wilt never leave me,
And though the waves roll high,
I know Thou wilt be near me,
And whisper, 'It is I.'"

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear!! I put you on my "blogs to follow" list and expected it to keep me up-dated when you posted. But all this time you've been posting and it hasn't told me ... maybe because it's an invite only blog, I don't know. I'm sorry for not checking it.

Thank you for posting these thoughts and words. What a good reminder. And the words ... what true-ness in them! Thank you.

Also, do you think you could send me (one more time) an invite to your "Day by Day" blog. I didn't accept it before because I didn't read carefully and I originally thought you'd sent me two invites to one blog. I realize now what I did. :) Did you get that? If you could that would be great, if not, that's okay too.

Thank you again!

Ana,
I think it's being an "invite-only" blog must have something to do with it not updating your followers list. I do not get updates for the private blogs I follow. I also understand about the "Day by Day" invite; I wondered if some people would accidentally do that. That's okay. ;-) I sent it (a new invite) to your email...
Thanks for your comment! :-D
